Portland is blessed with one of the largest urban parks in America, Forest Park. We take our green space seriously and have the stats to prove it! There are 10,763 acres of parks which represent 11% of the city's area.
A little sun peeking through the clouds will find Portlanders running, hiking and especially biking. Our bike trails and corridors are some of the finest in the nation. Many of these trails extend beyond the city of Portland to the outlaying suburban areas.
The Portland Metro and surrounding areas have incredible natural beauty. Places such as Columbia Children's Arboretum, Gabriel Park, Toe Island and the recently opened Tualatin River Natural Wildlife Refuge allow easy access to the serenity of nature.
After a lot of traveling and exploring the world, I have great appreciation for being a native Portlander. The friendly people, relaxed pace, lush green surroundings and charming neighborhoods make Portland one of the most unique and livable cities in the world. Portland is consistently one of the top ten cities for livability in the nation. All of this contributes to the stability in the Portland housing market.
